The medieval fortified
farmhouse Corzanello strides a hill covered in vineyards, olive
trees and an oak wood. This hill extends along the Pesa Valley and
the historic roman road, the Via Cassia, which connects Florence
and Siena. It commands a dramatic view over the vineyards and olive
groves, towards the neighboring hills, where you can see milk sheep
grazing. They are a reminder of the various activities of the 350
acre family owned farm; the production of a range of highly recognized
wines, and extra virgin olive oil, and a variety of sheep milk cheeses;
products used by some of Florence’s finest restaurants.
Corzanello has 6 double bedrooms with twin beds. The tower is also
a bedroom, but has also been used by one member of the family as
a painters atelier; it is a two story, gallery space with wonderful
light. There are 3 bathrooms, a sitting room and a large kitchen
dominated by a walk-in fireplace. Particularly attractive is the
walled patio with a small octagonal pool ( 3,5 m. wide, 1,7 m. deep)
which can be used for a refreshing bathe during the summer months;
with a spectacular view towards the villas topping the surrounding
hills. There is also a swimming pool (12 x 6 m) available at the
nearby Farm.
Corzanello is in the countryside 17 km. from Florence, 35 km from
The local town, San Casciano Val di Pesa, is 5 km. away, with supermarkets,
